Iran Embassy Document Attestation — Ankara

Step-by-step process
Sworn Persian (Farsi) translation
Your Turkish document is translated into Persian by a court-appointed sworn translator. Persian is required by Iranian authorities.
Notarisation
The translator's signature is notarised by a Turkish notary public.
District or provincial attestation
The notarised translation is attested by the district governorship (kaymakamlık) or governorship (valilik). This is an attestation, not an apostille.
YÖK or MEB approval (education documents only)
University documents need YÖK approval and school documents MEB approval before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will attest them.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Attested by Turkey's Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara. An appointment is required, so timing follows the ministry's calendar.
Iranian mission attestation
Attested by the Iranian Embassy in Ankara or the Iranian Consulates General in Istanbul, Erzurum or Trabzon. Before handing it in, we check that every Turkish seal on the document carries its own Ministry of Foreign Affairs approval — the most common reason Iranian missions return a file. Timing depends on the mission's workload.

Frequently asked questions
Does Iran accept apostilles?
No. Iran is not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention. The full legalisation chain — MFA approval plus Iranian Embassy attestation — is mandatory.
Can you translate from Persian to Turkish as well?
Yes. We handle both directions: Turkish-to-Persian for documents going to Iran, and Persian-to-Turkish for Iranian documents needed in Turkey.
Do I need to come to Ankara?
