Turkish Power of Attorney Legalization for the United Arab Emirates

The UAE is not a party to the Hague Apostille Convention for documents originating in Turkey. A full legalization chain through the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Embassy in Ankara is required — an apostille alone will not be accepted.

This page covers a Turkish power of attorney only, verified on 5 August 2026. University diplomas follow a longer chain: an additional YÖK (Council of Higher Education) approval is required between provincial attestation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stage. That YÖK step does not apply to a power of attorney.

Timeline in practice

This is a multi-day process. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stage itself moves relatively quickly given daily appointment availability, but the UAE Embassy’s online appointment system is known to require several attempts before a booking succeeds — build buffer time into any client-facing timeline rather than promising a fixed date.
